33 - Sound is a traveling wave

The work of Mouches Volantes can really be split into two kinds of music. The first kind is beat orientated and consists of layered rhythms. The second kind is sample orientated; we use recordings of the world around us (our city, our workplace, the movies we watch etc.) and turn them into a piece. The first kind we call "Beat collage" and the second kind is in fact "Musique Concrète". That's right; we use the same principles as the French "Musique Concrète" movement from the 50's and 60's. But of course with contemporary sounds and techniques.
